Overseas Cricket Scholarship Program

Helensvale Pacific Pines Cricket Club is seeking applications from young and aspiring cricketers from outside of Australia looking to expand their experience with a summer of Australian cricket.  Applicants should be 18 to 24 years of age, be serious about their cricketing education and be available for the best part of the Australian season spanning October to March (previous home club commitments considered).

Our club is based on Australia’s Gold Coast which is a very beautiful region located in the south-eastern corner of Queensland.  We have incredible white sandy surf beaches to our east and green rainforests to our west and there are almost 600,000 residents who live in between.  Our club competes in 1st grade in the Cricket Gold Coast (CGC) competition which is of a very high standard, played on well manicured grounds and curated turf wickets.

Our Scholarship includes:

* All cricket registration fees paid
* All club required clothing provided
* Room & board, including home-based meals at no cost (the player will be billeted at our expense)
* Tuition in coaching (required to assist with junior team specialist coaching)
* Tuition in curating (required to assist our curator midweek)

The successful applicant would be responsible for their own travel costs and visa requirements (additional paid work ~ $70-100/wk could be provided if the visa allowed bar work on Sundays and/or ground work if you have a good work ethic).  We would collect the player from (and return them to) Brisbane International Airport and would welcome them into our own cricketing family for the summer.

The CGC league offers a very good quality local competition played in good conditions with the possibility of representative honours during the season.

The Helensvale Pacific Pines Cricket Club offers the successful applicant a safe and welcoming environment to enjoy an Australian summer of cricket and add to their cricketing education. This position, while not restricted to, would ideally suit a player already involved in a higher performance academy of some description.

Expressions of interest, including an introduction letter and cricketing background should be sent in the first instance to president@hawkscricketclub.com.au.  Please include details of what you do, who you’ve done it for, how we can verify it and why you’d love to come and play cricket in Australia.

Expressions of interest close July 30 each year.  Applicants will be advised if they are successful by August 15.
